This is the day we focus on and reactivate the fierce love of Dr Martin Luther King

In order to come into balance

We must find the compassion within our hearts

For ourselves first

And from there extend it out to others

This does not mean that we do not fight injustice

Or turn a blind eye to abuse of self and others

Only that we also bring our hearts into the equation

We must, as Dr King showed us, balance the mind with the heart!

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive.
He who is devoid of the power to forgive
is devoid of the power to love.
There is some good in the worst of us
and some evil in the best of us.
When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking.
There is an almost universal quest
for easy answers and half-baked solutions.
Nothing pains some people more than having to think.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Cowardice asks the question - is it safe?
Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular?
But conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position
that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular;
but one must take it BECAUSE it is right.
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we bring that fierce love down into our hearts and look at the world

We must ask the question

What is right for me to do?

How can I be of service first to myself then to others

For we cannot give if we are depleted and weary

What does the new decade of 2020 mean to you?

If you would like to explore that question.
