I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. . . I certainly did.  I must say I was dreading it somewhat.  Our family has gone through quite a bit of trauma this past year individually and collectively . . . and we are grieving transitions to the other side, illnesses, and the incarceration of one our beloved members.  I also miss my Parents . . . especially Mommie . . .around the holidays.  Daddy would always make the ham and his wonderful oyster rice dressing and they both would cook the turkey and dressing ..  I loved Mommie's sweet potato pies and pound cake.  We would add greens, string beans, yams, potato salad, cheesy macaroni, gravy and always a surprise dish. My brother Lee takes off work and begins cooking 2 days in advance . . . we each bring our assigned dish . . .  so we still have that wonderful meal and more, as the Family continues to grow.  Our Parents are dearly missed.   But as we came together in prayer and celebration we were blessed with the love and power of the ancestors and the Divine . . . .  and something shifted.  We created a group energy field of love. . . Mommie and Daddy were there too . . . we were all uplifted . . . and the food was  soooo deliciously good!

So I am laying on the couch watching star trek . . . I love the original series . . . and I was dozing off but still aware.  I was in that in between lucid dreaming state . . . and I was making gumbo with my Mother.  I was chopping up the veggies like I used to do . . . and she was sipping her wine and supervising me like she used to do . . . and we were having such a great time . . . I could feel the love-flow in my heart and I felt happy . . . then I woke up. Ever since Mommie crossed over, I would get depressed during the holidays.  I sat up and took a deep breath sending love to Mommie on the other side and waited.  I felt a wave of sadness descend and rode it out . . . and then something else happened . . . instead of my usual downward spiral I began to feel thankful for the times we had hung out together, just me and her . . . and thankful for spiritual presence in my life still . . . and then the tears came . . . and I as they flowed I reflected on the good times with me and Mommie.  Something said, get up and get your journal and write . . . and as I wrote I began to feel better . . . little did I know I was rewiring my brain . . . getting out of that old downward spiral loop  . . . and creating a an upward pathway . . .  reconnecting to the love that is always there . . .

Always look after each other . . . always take care of the Family - Lee A. Jackson Jr. - Daddy

May you embrace your experiences like a Thanksgiving Day feast, where all aspects of your true infinite self are welcomed to the table of acceptance — no matter how ashamed, afraid, or unworthy any part feels. May you not rush the journey of healing, but instead savor the privilege of being in a body that guarantees each circumstance is always destined to expand and get better with time. May you soften the differences that can divide you from your most vulnerable parts by being more open and unguarded with your thoughts and feelings than ever before. May everything be welcomed home to the table of acceptance, whether erupting within, or repeating throughout, as opportunities to love what arises and celebrate how perfectly everything has been created to help you evolve.
